Anglia Square: A Love Story is a year-long funded multi-partner, participatory research, music and theatre project designed to respond to contemporary and historical changes to an iconic area of Norwich at a time of radical redevelopment.

2019 saw a lot of people getting involved in the different elements of the project. They included a citizen research group; a community choir; a songbook, a heritage publication, a large scale outdoor theatre show; story-telling events; a website; street performance and creative photography, screen printing and performance work in five city schools. The outdoor show performed was across three city centre stages and in the streets in July 2019 with over 200 cast and choir and an enthusiastic audience of almost 4000.
The Common Lot worked in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University, Norwich Arts Centre, Norwich City Council, BBC Voices, True Stories Live and many others. The project was supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England, Norwich Freemen’s Charity, the Chivers Trust, Norwich Arts Centre and Norwich City Council.
